My happenings
With being a full-time student this summer to finish my CPA requirements, then studying for the CPA, and planning a wedding... I decided I wasn't busy enough and should be employed this summer. For two summers during college I painted walls for our city's school district. It is the easiest, most laid-back job = perfect with this summer's craziness!! For the past two months I have working for the district part-time painting walls and chatting with the other 5 girls I work with (2 others that are engaged so our day is filled with wedding talk!!). It has been a great summer job, a nice break through my day, and great to add a few extra dollars to our bank account.
We were able to make it to Carthage, historic Nauvoo, and other church history sites. I learned SO much about church history and the early pioneers. What great sacrifices they made for each of us to have the rich blessings we have and are able to enjoy in our lives today. I am thankful for them.

Our group was able to see the pageant while we were there. What a wonderful spirit that was felt there. Everyone did an amazing job and the temple lit up at the end of the show was simply breath-taking.
Though camping was a little rough and not my favorite activity... the scenery was magnificent! The flowers were all blooming, the trees were a beautiful green, and Mississippi River just sparkled. It was wonderful to spend the weekend outside and surrounded by fresh air.

My favorite part was being around the temple. Geoff and I were able to walk around the temple grounds for awhile one evening and we were also able to attend a session together. It is such a beautiful temple and I was so grateful to go through the temple with Geoff and continue to learn more about this wonderful gospel. I am grateful for my membership in this church and for the sacrifices the early saints made for the church's progression.
The Countdown has begun...

Becky's Grad Party
Games, games, games... Geoff had a blast playing cornhole, horse shoes, washer board, etc. with the boys all day. It is so wonderful how perfect he fits into my family!
The boys posing silly for the camera... I love them!! They are so cute :-)
Cousins!! Julie, Tina, and I - I do not get to see them as often as desired, but it is so nice to visit and catch up. I miss them but am so thankful for all the opportunities we have to see each other this summer!!
Cake Class
Here's my final cake project:
I did these roses all by myself!! Now I'm ready to make my own wedding cake... haha!! I wish - my mom and Geoff won't let me :/ Probably the best idea anyway!!

the Memorial Tournament
This was our day:

Geoff very intensely watched the players, analyzed the shots, and reminisced about his previous tournaments on the course.

And, I designed our future dream house throughout the day. The course is lined with beautiful mansions and so I pointed out specifics I wanted for our home. It was fun!!
All in all it was a great weekend! I took in the rays, saw gorgeous homes, and enjoyed watching the players. The golf game actually did go a lot faster than I expected and I was able to learn a great deal for the future! I love spending time with Geoff and being a part of things that he loves.

Weekend with the Families
I was super bummed that I forgot to take pictures until the very end of the day. Here's one of the only pictures of Geoff and I... we're playing basketball in the driveway. He kind of looks like a giant next to me... note to self - don't bend over when standing by Geoff!
I love when Geoff comes to my parents house. He gets so excited!! One would think he is going to Disneyland the way he acts about coming!! He loves coming over and playing cornhole, ping pong, basketball, boocey ball, darts, and other games for him to get into here. He loves it!! It's funny because when he visits "me" I never really get to see him because he is always off playing games with the boys :-) I am so glad Geoff fits in with my family perfectly. We are both so lucky to have wonderful families!!
SUPER FUNNY STORY:
My cousin and her two little girls also came for the weekend. We had so much fun playing with them, Alyson is almost 4 and Maira is almost 4 months. When the girls first arrived it took Alyson a little while to open up to her new environment and to each of us. She is very shy and reserved around men and so it took her even longer to open up to them. But, after almost 2 days with us she was having a blast by the end of the weekend! We played with her ball, wrote with sidewalk chalk, did sparklers and bottle rockets at night and other fun things!! So, when it was time for them to leave Alyson came up to me and told me that she "didn't want to go home." Her mother wasn't around because she was getting the baby together and packing the car and so I told her to go and hide from her mom so she could stay with us. As soon as I told her that she looked at me with this mischievous smile and took off running to find a spot (see above). Yes, the spot she choose to hide from her mom was behind the trunk of a tree a fourth of her size!!!! She stood there about five minutes until her mom came out of the house. Then when her mom came out and she noticed, she moved her body to the side so the trunk was blocking her side and not the front of her. She continued to stand there not looking at her or anyone else. It was hysterical!! She finally came out of her hiding spot when her mom turned the trick on her and got in the car and starting pulling out of the driveway. When she saw her mom leaving she came running out and after the car. It was a pretty funny scene!! Kids are just so cute :-)

Our Disagreement
...BUT we differ greatly when going to pose for pictures. Whenever someone wants to take a picture of us, I align ourselves so we are posing just right, looking at the camera from the correct angle, and smiling so our pearly-white teeth are showing. Picture perfect is what I want. Now Geoff, a picture "perfect" to him is our heads tilted strangely, eyes half closed, tongues out, and a goofy look on our faces. See below --
Casey's pose.
Geoff's choice in pose.
I can't believe I put this pic online. He looks ridiculous! I promise he is more attractive in person... :)
So, I guess we do disagree on something!
