My Trip to London

I am playing MAJOR catch up with these next couple of posts. I have been totally MIA lately and a bad blogger so I have much to catch up on!!

During my Christmas break, Heather, one of my roommates, and I traveled to London for a 10-day excursion together. We did a lot of sight-seeing, toured many beautiful cathedrals and museums around the city, and ate lots and lots of good food!! It was a great break from my crazy, upside down life right now and exactly what I needed to step away from things. I had the BEST time with Heather and we were able to build many memories that I will remember always - thanks!!!

Walking across the Thames River... the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

The Eye of London is to the left... it is basically a big ferris wheel. There are about 30-40 glass rooms all around the wheel and it moves very slowly (it takes around 30 minutes to travel around the wheel) so you are able to see the entire skyline of London.
Heather and I took a trip around the Eye at night... below is a pic from the ride. The Eye of Longon is right across from Big Ben and other historic sites so we were able to capture great pictures!! So neat :)

St. Paul's Cathedral - one of my favorite tours of the trip... we had the funniest older woman as our tour guide. I love British humor!!!
The top dome of the St. Paul's Cathedral was open to the public they day we took our tour and so we climbed the 400+ stairs to the top. It was a beautiful view!!

Our "beaf eater" tour guide at the Tower of London... again, British humor is hysterical!!

Tower of London - We had a great tour guide at the tower and I was able to learn a lot about English history... man, they must have really liked beheading people?! It was a wonderful tour and I did learn much from the great history this country has to offer.

HELP US!!!

London Bride hasn't fallen down yet...

Classic... we had to get a pic inside the red telly booths!!

We headed to Bath for a day and saw the Roman baths. It is incredible to think that hundreds of people gathered here at the same time and bathed in the same place. Weird?! I am grateful for the privacy I am given in my own home. Very cool history and stories here
though.
HARROD'S!! Our favorite part of the store = the kids toys!!

Ok... so these pics may need some explanation:
These lions are outside the National Gallery and Heather thought it would be a good idea to climb up onto these huge steel lions to take pictures. It is totally legally and she has done it before... :)
The top pics are her boosting me onto the lion... as you can see I was unsuccessful and could not get my legs around the lion because I was laughing sooo hard.
The bottom pics are me boosting Heather after she had to explain what a "boost" meant = me actually having to push her up... didn't realize that?! She is a pro and obviously made it onto the lion for a super cute pic!! We laughed so hard and had so much fun during our attempts!!

Heather's dad and us girls outside the Wells cathedral.

A sign on a fence and a cigarette trash package... both with the most hysterical messages to Brits!! I just had to take pics of each of them.

Heather outside of Buckingham Palace.

The changing of the guards... didn't see the princes :(

Twilight, Twilight, Twilight... we didn't have much down time on our trip but every night before we went to bed (and sometimes on the airplane, tube, train, etc.) we read our Twilight books. I read one a half books of the series and Heather managed to get through all four of the books = addicting!!

I had so much fun!! It was a wonderful trip that I will always remember and have the fondest memories of. Thank you, thank you so much for taking me and being such a wonderful tour guide. Let's go back...
